The next day, I ran across an article published at SamsClub.com of all places about the importance of stretching.
Here are the key things to remember about stretching:
1) Stretching gives you flexibility which leads to a better range of motion and in turn gives you the most return for your workout when you exercise.
2) In addition to range of motion, effective stretching improves your energy, enhances your balance, relieves joint and muscle pain, and reduces a chance of injury.
3) Do you align your tires on your vehicle? Well, stretching helps align the muscle fibers in your body. Stretching helps train your muscles to become longer and stronger...(We all want to be longer and stronger don't we?)
4) A simple 5 to 10 minute stretching routine should be enough to prepare you for a workout activity. Oddly enough, stretching can also help you sleep better. Try stretching out before you lay on your bed before sleep and notice the improvement in breathing and possibly less cramps in the middle of the night.
As a trained professional fitness trainer, I can show you a good stretching routine and help you get in the best physical shape possible.
Until Next Time,
